The Haffenreffer Museum of Anthropology has received a grant of $500,000 from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for a four-year (2018-2022) project to strengthen scholarship on and care of its core Native American and Native Alaskan collections. The goal is to make these collections more accessible for research, teaching, and public exhibition in the context of enhancing Brown's commitment to Native American and Indigenous Studies. The funds will support object documentation and photography, object assessment and conservation, and collections reorganization and rehousing.
