Whether you are engaged in research or interested in learning more about anthropology collections, you can now search the Museum’s permanent collection for specific object types, culture/people, geographic region, and artist/maker. Highlight groups offer a quick view of preselected objects.
The Online Catalogue does not include the Museum's entire collection, but as an active collecting, teaching, and research institution, the Haffenreffer Museum's resources are continually evolving and improving. The Museum's goal is to continue to enhance online access by adding thousands more object records and images of collections as they become available.
HMA provides access to Collections Online in an effort to be transparent, make collections accessible, and invite input from cultural experts and communities. HMA is always striving to improve the ways we describe and share holdings. Please be aware that HMA Collections Online may include terms that are inaccurate, outdated, or offensive. We are actively working to address this terminology to reflect updated, accurate, and preferred names and concepts of people, their histories, languages, cultures, and belongings. We apologize for any terminology that causes harm. We invite cultural experts or community representatives to reach out to us with any concerns so that we may begin to address them immediately.
