Director Robert Preucel Appointed James Manning Professor of Anthropology

On May 26th, The Corporation of Brown University announced the appointment of several new faculty chairs, including the appointment of Robert Preucel to James Manning Professor of Anthropology.

The James Manning Professor of Anthropology chair is named after Brown University's first president (1765) and the college's only professor until 1767. James Manning is also the namesake of Manning Hall, where the Haffenreffer Museum of Anthropology Gallery is located.
