Haffenreffer Museum of Anthropology

Juan Joel Arce is the Transforming the Haffenreffer Mellon Grant collections photographer. Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Juan’s career has taken him to New York, Philadelphia, and now Providence RI. Before he solidified his career within Museum Photography, Juan has had previous success as a Music Video Set Stylist and Producer of Fashion Runway. Clients include the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, the Cooper Hewitt - Smithsonian Design Museum, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, and Lady Gaga. 

Receiving his BFA in Photography at Parsons, The New School for Design, Juan has exhibited his Photography in museums and galleries in New York, London, Paris, Milan, and Saint Petersburg Russia.

Outside of work, Juan is the Vice President of a NYC based 501c3 non profit benefiting LGBTQIA2S+ communities, and runs a small business specializing in stationary goods.
